We use this as a coat rack in our large foyer in a 130 year home. Looks great. It is quite heavy providing a fair amount of stability. However, a larger, wider base would provide more stability and allow us to put more weight (coats) on the hooks.

Have this in my front hall. It tends to loosen up quite easily and in Wisconsin, where winter coats are quite heavy, care must be taken re: weight distribution when hanging coats. Relatively pleased and would be perfect in a slightly warmer climate.
