I just assembled my replacement for the the first one I ordered and it has the same poorly designed problem. The top section is made to spin on the main post structure, but this is done in such a way that no matter what, it is out of line and looks horrible. I don't know what I am going to do with it, but cannot really recommend this to anyone who cares if things are straight or not.
For now, I have put two shims in the space below the top finial so it will line up appropriately, but of course, now it won't turn. Overall, not a good deal.

The top piece doesn't quite fit flush to the central pole. We had to add about 1/2" lift under on leg to get it to stand up straight. Fortunately those flaws are not observable in the position and usage of the piece.
Service and delivery comments:
We waited about 6 weeks for delivery as it was backordered when I ordered it, but indicated "in stock" on the website.
